Among the many perks of being a custom cake maker, you get to be updated on pop culture. Had it not been for orders such as these as well as new animes, or new movies, we would never get to know them while we’re inside the bake-room or the decorating room.
Apologies are in order because we don’t get to know them sooner. However, there are clients who are so happy to tell us about them. And even more, they are excited to learn that someone is about to find out about their most favorite kpop idol for the first time. This one said:
“I get to relive the first moment I heard the song through you!”
With that in mind we did get excited to watch the music video from J-Hope.
Needless to say, the song came on repeat while we were making this cake. And maybe even more after that.
The cake was 6″ in diameter by 4″ in height. The chicken having its most “chill” time in the noodle cup and the cola in can are also edible made from preset Captain’s Fondant. The whole design of the cake is inspired by J-Hope’s jacket.
We tried to echo the song title’s signature font for the birthday greeting and name.
J-Hope is a South Korean singer-songwriter, dancer, rapper and record producer. Somehow South Korean music celebrities are the very definition of talent. They go through rigorous training to say the least and have to pass steep company requirements to even think of getting their chance at the spotlight.
Chicken Noodle Soup is his single when he had his solo album while still being part of the globally popular South Korean boy band BTS. Yes, we are aware that you know of them and maybe in shock why it is only now that we got to learn about his solo album.
Rest assured we are acquainted with their music, it’s just our bad that we aren’t updated. Sorry ARMY and especially sorry Hopers. Still we thank you for introducing us the fact that he has a solo album.
The cake and the first time we heard of Chicken Noodle Soup happened about two years ago. So much has happened since and we are happy to be surprised once again that some of the South Korean groups we have grown to be fond of even way back 2012s are still making fantastical music.
We’re all here for it! So keep the music playing!
In the mean time, we look forward to baking more of these endorphin inducing music inspired design.
Chicken noodle soup! Chicken noodle soup… Chicken noodle soup with Soda on the Siiiide!!!
As always we live by our mantra on making cakes: Cakes Are Meant To Be Eaten!!!
